Wild West Side
We started out walking through times square and learned that the nickname that was given to New York City is called the Big Apple. Times Square is pretty much tourist central. So many bright lights, and so many people taking pictures. This place is a zoo on New Years eve to watch the ball drop. We made our way over to Rockefeller Center where we went t NBC studios. There was so much merchandise to buy based on some of the greatest shows like "The Office". Right in Rockefeller Center is where the big tree lighting for Christmas takes place. If you wanna go see the tree lighting you have to get there early in the morning to make sure you get a good seat to watch otherwise you will get no where near the tree. After this we made our way over to the Museum of Modern Art also known as MOMA. Here is where i saw interesting art that was based on food. I had a bit of an argument with a classmate trying to decide whether an object was an ice cream cone or a carrot, and I won the argument. After the MOMA we went to have lunch on Mike and we ate Thai food. At first I didn't want to eat it but i figured i would give it a shot and I actually liked it. it pretty much tasted like Chinese food. We then went up to Harlem, but went home fairly quickly because of the weather.

Lower Manhattan and Captivating Chelsea
We started out this day by going to City Hall. There was a lot of security there which made us take off our belts? We went inside City Hall and went to watch a meeting upstairs like it was a stadium. Unfortunately we did not get to stay long but it was cool. After this we made our way over to the 9/11 memorial. I had never seen the twin towers when they were up so i didn't really know what it looked like at first but the memorial was very nice. OF course there was a lot of security but i would expect that. Once we got inside the memorial was beautiful. The water falls where the buildings were was crazy to look at. To think that this site had two huge buildings right there is scary to think about. I still remember when everything happened i was only in fifth grade and my mom took me out of school. We then went down to Wall Street and saw the NY stock exchange. Looking at the Stock exchange it looked like the exact scene from the movie Batman where the Stock exchange was robbed. Although in the movie the main entrance was on the opposite end of the street? We then went to a bunch of museums and we must of been a great class because we made it through ten galleries like Mike wanted us to.

Immigrant New York
In this class we had a fun day down in Chinatown, or as I like to call it "Stinky town" because it just smelled like trash. Back when immigrants were pouring in to NY this is where the poor people lived and this is where so much disease developed because there were no cleaning of these places. First we were in the Essex Market where there were so many little stands to buy different kinds of food, fish, and meat. After this we enjoyed a nice lunch. Everyone in the class went to s sketchy looking Chinese restaurant, but I went to get a nice roast beef sandwich. It was expensive, but it was worth it. After this we walked the Williamsburg bridge. It was very hot, but the man selling water half way up the bridge was very clutch because without the waters everyone might have passed out before we got to the end.

Final Impression of New York
New york City is filled with so many different types of people, with so many different cultures mixed into one. Before this class all i really knew was times square, The Yankees, and the Knicks. Now that i have been to many different places i now realize how big New York is and how diverse it really is. There is so much culture in this city and every single person is not afraid to show that piece of themselves. As much as people do not think so everyone is accepted in NY. You could be gay and not many people cared. You could be crazy and nobody would look at you weird because they have seen so many crazy people in NY already. This city is the reason why i will never leave New York. Where else could i go that would be better?
